Fun Filled Schedule

We plan our daily schedules based on each child’s age and interests, using a similar tried and tested structure. While timetables vary across venues, our programmes follow a theme with staff basing their weekly activities around it, making sure everyone enjoys an incredible holiday day camp filled with fun wherever its location.

Facilities and locations

Each Adventure Camp venue is perfect for all the fun activities our campers love. Using a school’s facility – a hall or large classroom for indoor play and lots of space for outdoor activities – our team creates a daily schedule well-paced and engaging, with plenty of choices to please every child.

School holiday camp early years FAQs

Early Years is a term used to categorise the phase of a child’s life from birth to age 5.  
At United Education, our Early Years school holiday camp group (also known as Mini Explorers) is suitable for children at the higher end of this age group, from 3 to 4 years old. Once children turn 5, they transition into our Junior Explorers group for 5- to 7-year-olds.

A key person is a member of staff that works closely with a child while they are in an Early Years setting. At our school holiday camps, the key person is responsible for observing a specific group of children, paying attention to what they enjoy doing and assessing areas for development.  
In our Mini Explorers group at our school holiday camps, each child is assigned a key person who will observe and pay close attention to them throughout the day. You will be able to see our key people when you arrive at Camp.  

Children learn best when encouraged to explore and discover their environment while playing and interacting with other children. At our school holiday clubs we feel play is essential as it has strong links to children’s physical, cognitive, language and social development.

Our Mini Explorers group timetable combines child and adult-led activities. We include continuous provision through a home corner, role play area, messy play, construction and arts and crafts (to name a few) set up for children to access throughout the day and influenced by our weekly themes and the children’s needs and interests. This provision changes throughout the week based on our observations of what the children are enjoying so that there is something new and exciting to experience every day.  

Our school holiday clubs have emphasis on outdoor play which has many benefits for children in their early years. Going outside and exploring their natural environment helps children make sense of the world. It also can help develop an appreciation for the world and build children’s desire to look after their natural habitat, which they can carry throughout their lives.  

At United Education, we recognise how important it is for all children to be outside exploring their natural environment. Therefore, we prioritise including outdoor activities and chances for children to play and explore throughout our daily timetables.
